About Our Unit
Erste Kompanie (first company) Großdeutschland was founded in 2000 as a part of the greater Midwest reenacting community. Our unit is a part of NorthWoods Living History society, and seeks to portray the day-to-day lives and trappings of the common foot soldier in the German Army (Heer) of WW2.

We foster a strong sense of teamwork, friendship, and mutual respect within the reenactment community. Our members build lasting connections both on and off the field through events, training, and shared experiences.

We work closely with new and developing units to help them become established and successful. Whether it is guidance on authenticity, event coordination, equipment standards, or organizational structure, we are committed to helping others grow within the hobby.
